I have designed this special city tour especially for parents, grandparents and children.

Together we explore Vienna’s historic streets and beautiful squares – festively decorated and atmospherically illuminated.

The children will love the magical atmosphere of the Christmas markets – where sweet treats, burnt nuts and hot drinks are offered at colorful stands.

While the adults enjoy a mulled wine or punch, the little ones can warm up with hot chocolate or tea and marvel at the sparkling decorations.

Along the way, your guide will tell entertaining and family-friendly stories about Vienna’s imperial past, music and ancient Christmas traditions – exciting for all ages.

A perfect experience for young and old to enjoy the festive atmosphere of Vienna together.

We start at what is arguably the city’s most prestigious opera – a jewel of Neo-Renaissance architecture and one of the most important stages in the world.

Learn more about its history and why it is the pride of the Viennese musical tradition.


 We tour the opera from the outside and have no inside tour as part of this tour.

Hotel Sacher Directly across the street you can hear the sweet story behind Vienna’s most famous cake – the Original Sacher cake. Albertina Admire this stately palace, now home to one of the most important museums of graphics and art – with works by Dürer, Picasso, Klimt and many more.
 We visit the Albertina from the outside and do not have an inside tour as part of this tour.

We continue our tour of this historic square, decorated with the Baroque Thunder Fountain and surrounded by elegant townhouses and cafes – an ideal place to stay for a short while.

Arriving at Vienna’s Gothic masterpiece – St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the city’s landmark – you’ll learn about its tall towers, colourful tiled roof and its significance in the heart of Vienna.

Trench We continue our walk along the busy Graben promenade, see the plague column, walk along where history, architecture and modern cafes meet. Kohlmarkt Stroll along this elegant shopping street, where court suppliers once supplied the imperial courtyard – today exclusive luxury shops line the street.

Our next stop is the Christmas market Am Hof, a square with a rich history. Today, various festivals take place here all year round – during Christmas time, the square shines in a special splendour.

The Freyung is one of Vienna's oldest marketplaces and during Advent it is the scene of a particularly atmospheric and charming Christmas market known for its traditional atmosphere.

When evening falls, the Christkindlmarkt on Rathausplatz shines under the illuminated towers of Vienna's Rathaus and opposite the elegant Burgtheater. 
A festive scent of punch, roasted almonds and Christmas music fills the air – the perfect end to your evening stroll through Vienna’s Christmas wonderland.
