This is a 2,5 to 3 -hour whale watching tour 25 minutes north of Akureyri in Hauganes. A comfortable tour with the oldest whale watching tour operator in Iceland where you will be observing the fantastic scenery, bird life, and the diverse range of whale species in Eyjafjordur. In 2022 we saw humpback whales in 99% of our tours.

In this adventure, an experienced guide will help you explore the fauna and flora of our beautiful region as we search for the whale sightings that have been occurring along the coast in recent days. You’ll learn about the reasons behind these giants’ journey to our peaceful shores and may have the chance to spot these lovely whales with their adorable giant calves! To make the experience even richer, the guide will share fascinating historical insights about our coastline. Every year around the end of November till the beginning of April we are honored to welcome the Humpback whale in our area. Once the water temperature changes, they come down with the colder currents from Alaska to mate and raise their babies. These incredible animals that can grow up to 52 ft are an absolute must see for nature lovers. Let these giants surprise you when they come to greet us peacefully; enjoy playtime of the newborn calves: a spectacular water show with turns and jumps guaranteed! Destination: Akureyri.
Watch the waves for sightings of Iceland’s native marine wildlife on this 3-hour whale-watching adventure from Húsavík. You can also meet pods of friendly Dolphins such as the Common dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins, Spinner dolphins, Risso’s dolphins and striped dolphins as they playfully somersault and dance on the ocean waves. There’s also a good chance of seeing flying fish, turtle, manta rays and even sharks.
